IAPMO supported and participated in World Water Day events as a member of the US Water Partnership at the US Department of State. The day began with speakers from the State Department, US EPA and other federal officials promoting the elevation of water infrastructure as a national priority, water equity and affordability and water financing. On March 18, officials from IAPMO and the PT IAPMO Group Indonesia visited more than 200 children at Yayasan Rahmatan Lil-Alamin orphanage, teaching them about the importance of plumbing, sanitation and water conservation in celebration of World Plumbing Day. Shirley Dewi, Senior VP of PT IAPMO Group Indonesia and Ken Wijaya, Executive VP of PT IAPMO Group Indonesia, delivered presentations at the event, which revolved around the World Plumbing Council’s March 11 observance of World Plumbing Day and included a poster contest and coloring contest. The winners of the contest were announced during the event and were recognized during the fourth annual education conference commemorating World Plumbing Day on March 30 in Balai Kartini, Jakarta. At the recent ACREX India 2017 tradeshow, IAPMO India introduced the 2017 edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code – India (2017 UMC-ITM), Illustrated Volume I, which covers specific chapters highlighted as priorities throughout the industry. ASSE 1060 provides performance standards and compliance testing procedures for devices that provide a range of protection for fluid conveying components that are mounted outside and above ground, so that they may avoid damage from freezing, vandalism and tampering.
