Testing the waters

With WaterSafe, a new home testing kit from Silver Lake Research, of Monrovia, Calif., individual homeowners can get the information they need quickly and easily. In the past, the only way to check for toxins in tap water was to send samples to a lab, pay hundreds of dollars and wait weeks for a result. But now, the test allows individuals to find out exactly what contaminants lurk in their tap water, and how to eliminate them–in just 10 minutes. The test identifies levels of eight different contaminants in water.
