To meet the growing demand for seawater desalination to provide drinking water, industrial water and water for other uses, FilmTec Corp.—a subsidiary of Midland, Mich.-based The Dow Chemical Company—has re-engineered its seawater RO membrane products to meet a variety of real-world challenges. Two new membrane elements, the SW30HR LE-380 and the SW30HR-320, were introduced at the 2003 International Desalination Association World Congress Exhibition in late September.
