WQA News Roundup

First time attendee/new member breakfast. If you are new to WQA or are attending the Convention & Exposition for the first time, you are welcomed and encouraged to attend the breakfast from 7:30 – 8:30 am on Wednesday, March 29. WQA wants to make certain new members take full advantage of the Convention and learn about the resources and opportunities for education, networking, navigating the trade show floor and making the best use of your time. You will meet members of the WQA Membership Committee, Events Committee and the Board, who will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have about WQA. This is the perfect event for first-time attendees and anyone new to WQA looking to maximize time at the convention and learn how to make connections with the other 3,000 attendees. Pre-registration is required. One may sign-up for the breakfast during the registration process and there is no charge to attend.

Convention travel discounts. WQA has partnered with Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and Hertz Rental Car to provide our attendees with discounts on your travel to Orlando. Please visit the website for complete details.

PAC launched. WQA recently launched the WQA political action committee (WQA-PAC) so the organization can increase its participation in the political process and foster relationships with legislators to ensure its needs are heard. Elected officials will also have the opportunity to get a better understanding of the value of the drinking water treatment industry. WQA‐PAC is registered with the Federal Election Commission as a Separate Segregated Fund sponsored by the Water Quality Association and established to provide contributions to candidates for Congress. Individual members and those whose company is a member, but not a corporation, can contribute to WQA-PAC. To do so, complete a contribution form and return it to WQA via email to WQA-PAC@wqa.org or mail to WQA-PAC, 4151 Naperville Road, Lisle, IL 60532 .

Member volunteers needed. WQA has issued a call for members to volunteer, which will give them an opportunity to be part of the exciting work that lies ahead for 2017 and beyond. Please visit the website to learn more about the various committees, their current members and the committee charges and responsibilities. To volunteer, simply click on the page of the committee on which you’d like to serve then click on the ‘Apply to Join this Committee’ button at the bottom of the page. Members may apply for an open seat on up to two of the Association’s committees. The deadline to apply is Monday, January 23. Note that while no volunteer may serve as a voting member on more than two committees, there is no limit to the number of committees a volunteer may join in the role of an observer.
