FLSA change to be delayed. This is a brief update on the Department of Labor’s (DOL) revised Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) overtime rules. As you may have heard, a federal court in Texas temporarily blocked the rules from taking effect on December 1. The DOL is expected to appeal the injunction, and if the decision is overturned, the December 1st effective date could still be enforced. WQA will continue to monitor the developments and keep you informed, but for now, you should consult with your legal counsel and review whether to proceed as though the rules were going to take effect as planned or hold your plans until the final decision is made.
