WQA Governmental Affairs Report Released

In an effort to continue to send out regular reports on government affairs updates, the Water Quality Association announced the availability of its March update report covering the main issues the Government Affairs team is working on. Also included is a list of bills WQA is tracking at the state and federal level. This is a working document that will continue to change as new bills are introduced or as old bills pass/fail. If there is a bill or issue that should be added to this list, which can be found at the WQA website,  please contact Kathleen Fultz, Regulatory and Government Affairs Coordinator, via email at kfultz@wqa.org.

With national coverage on the Flint, MI water crisis, there has been an uptick in water quality legislation being introduced at bothstate and federal levels. Currently, Government Affairs is tracking over 100 bills, with 33 bills directly relating to lead in drinking water. All are listed inside the March bills list. If you have questions or would like to talk further about any of the issues in the update report or bills list, please contact Fultz or David Loveday at dloveday@wqa.org.
