Water Quality Association (WQA) Professional Certification & Training has responded to feedback from the industry by unveiling new accelerated paths to professional certification. The accelerated curricula will allow qualified professionals to save up to 30 hours in training previously required as part of WQA’s Modular Education Program (MEP). “We felt it was only fair that a professional’s formal education and industry experience be taken into account when determining their learning path,” explains Dr. Tanya Lubner, WQA’s Professional Certification & Training Director.
There are three types of accelerated paths currently available:
– The primary Accelerated Path is available to professionals with a minimum of two years of experience in the certification-related area.
– The Accelerated Plus Path is available to professionals with five or more years of experience in the certification-related area, with a minimum of two years of experience plus a Bachelor’s Degree.
– The Accelerated Already Certified (AC) Path is available to professionals who have been granted ‘grandfathered’ status as a WQA’s Master Water Specialist, Certified Water Specialist, or Certified Installer, with a minimum of two years of experience in the certification-related area.
The estimated time saved for the accelerated paths is about 19 hours for Accelerated, 24 hours for Accelerated Plus and 30 hours for the AC paths. The Accelerated Path Eligibility Survey must be completed prior to enrollment along with the Recommendation Form. Both are available at the website.
Accelerated paths require successful completion of the Basics Assessment. Please contact WQA’s Professional Certification & Training Department at (630) 505-0160 to learn how to achieve professional designation faster by including prior experience.
