Jeanne Bennett-Bailey has taken the reins as AWWA’s 35th president. (She is the Association’s second female president and probably the only president with both a technical and public affairs background.) During her one-year term, Bennett-Bailey will focus on workforce development, young professionals and the Association’s Water Equation Campaign, which supports programs such as the Community Engineering Corps and the One AWWA Operator scholarship. Most recently, she was Public Affairs Officer for Fairfax (VA) Water before retiring late last year. Bennett-Bailey was the Association’s Volunteer of the Year in 2014 and also served as Chair of the AWWA Public Affairs Council. In addition, she’s been a member of AWWA’s Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, the Utility Quality Management Committee and the Diversity and Member Inclusion Committee.
