WQA Toxicology Manager Kristin Licko, who joined WQA in 2011 as an intern in the Technical and Regulatory Affairs Department, has been chosen to receive the 2016 Women in Toxicology Celebrating Women in Toxicology Award. The award is being presented by Women in Toxicology (WIT), one of six special interest groups for the Society of Toxicology (SOT). Award recipients are selected on the basis of scientific merit, leadership and service, with a focus primarily on demonstration of leadership and service in the scientific/toxicology community. Licko serves as the Committee Chair for the Joint Peer Review Steering Committee (JPRSC), which works to consolidate and harmonize efforts toward development and external peer review of action levels for unregulated chemical contaminants originating from products in contact with drinking water. She is currently working toward a Master’s Degree in pharmacology and toxicology at Michigan State University.
