
NSF International promoted five general managers in its Global Water Division in response to the company’s increased growth. Dave Purkiss, a 27-year company veteran, was promoted to General Manager, Plumbing Products. In this new role, he will lead the growth of the plumbing certification programs. Purkiss is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), chairs both the AWWA Polyelectrolytes and Utility Quality Management Committees and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in biochemistry from Michigan State University.

Nasrin Kashefi, promoted to General Manager, Plastics Program began her career with NSF more than 24 years ago and most recently served as Business Unit Manager for the Plastics Program, where she was instrumental in driving a number of process improvement initiatives. She has also served as Operations Manager for both the Water Distribution Systems and Plastics Programs. Kashefi represents NSF on the PPI Hydrostatic Stress Board and is a member of the Plastics Pipe and Fitting Association, the Plastic Pipe Institute and the PVC Pipe Association. She has a Master’s Degree in interpersonal and organizational communication from Eastern Michigan University.

Theresa Bellish has been promoted to General Manager, Municipal Water Products and will help expand NSF International’s testing, auditing and certification services for drinking water treatment chemicals, distribution system components and recreational water products. She began her NSF career more than 15 years ago and has held several leadership positions in the Water Division. Previously, Bellish served as Senior Certification Project Manager. A member of AWWA, WEF and the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, she is also a Certified Pool and Spa Operator through NSPF and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition and food science from Wayne State University.

Blake Stark, promoted to General Manager, Treatment Chemicals & Filtration Media, will lead the program’s expansion into new areas, including developing a new certification service for pool and spa treatment chemicals. He has been with NSF for 26 years, beginning as a field auditor and rising to a number of leadership positions. Stark is a member of AWWA and Chair of its Disinfection Chemicals Committee, as well as an affiliate member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors. He has an MBA from Walsh College and a Bachelor’s Degree in geology from Adrian College. Amie Scott joined NSF as General Manager, New Global Water Programs. She will help develop new programs and expand existing standards and certification programs.

Scott has more than 10 years of public health experience and a strong drinking water industry knowledge base. She most recently served as a Business Health Research Analyst at SEAS Capital Partners. Previously, Scott was a Research Project Manager in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She has a Master’s Degree in public health from Columbia University and is a member of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
