Watts VP named
Watts Water has appointed Chris Jamieson Vice President-Marketing. Previously, he served as Vice President-Backflow and Valves. In his new role, Jamieson has responsibility for all functions involved in taking the Watts Water family of innovative water solutions to market, including marketing strategy, market management, product training, communications and pricing. Previously, he was VP for the Americas at Xylem and during his 26-year tenure, also served as VP of Marketing and Director of Business Development. Jamieson also has experience working on company startups in the US and China.
Calahan named to Water Right team
Steve Calahan has joined Water Right, Inc. as the newest Regional Sales Manager, responsible for the growth and business management of Illinois and Missouri. Prior to joining Water Right, he was Distribution Regional Sales Manager at Parker Hannifin Process Filtration. Calahan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, gained from many years of serving residential, commercial and industrial customers in the water treatment industry. He previously worked with EcoWater Systems and Culligan International. Calahan is a Bachelor of Business Administration Management graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Donda appointed IAPMO VP of water systems
The IAPMO Group announced the hiring of Tina Donda as VP of Water Systems, with primary responsibilities to promote the organization’s Water Systems product certification program and assist companies through the testing and certification processes. She spent 14 years with the Water Quality Association, most recently serving as Business Development Director, after nearly two years as the Global Business Development Manager. In the latter position, Donda facilitated a cross-department reorganization design; collaborated with peers to develop three-year strategic goals and was the main point of contact for outside companies. Prior to that, she was a product certification supervisor from 2003 to 2013. In addition, Donda has written technical articles for WC&P International on testing and laboratory practices.
DeBrum promoted at Clear Water Tech
ClearWater Tech, LLC announced the promotion of Marc DeBrum to Sales Manager. He brings more than 18 years of experience in ozone manufacturing, technical writing, mechanical engineering, product design, quality assurance, on-site installations, commissioning, training, service and sales management. DeBrum has also been a part of the ClearWater Tech technical review and editorial review board of ozone-related articles and papers, as well as writing technical articles for WC&P International.
McCusker appointed lavit COO
lavit LLC has appointed housewares industry veteran Jim McCusker to Chief Operating Officer. With more than 35 years of experience successfully managing companies in the small-electrics housewares industry, he will be instrumental in advancing the lavit brand in both the commercial and home marketplaces. McCusker joined lavit in 2014 as President of the Retail Division, where he has been leading the development of a single-serve cold beverage unit for the home. Prior to joining the company, he founded De’Longhi America, developing that company into a prominent manufacturer of small electrics, including coffeemakers, espresso makers and toasters, among other products.
NGWA award winners announced
Many awards will be presented at the 2015 Groundwater Expo, December 15-17 in Las Vegas, NV, including the following: A. ‘Bill’ Mills, CEO of 2M Co., Inc., Supplier of the Year Award; Dr. E. Scott Bair of Kitty Hawk, NC, the Keith E. Anderson Award; Dr. Zhongbo Yu, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, the John Hem Award for Excellence in Science & Engineering; Robert Cleary, PhD, President of Princeton Groundwater, Inc., the 2015 Special Recognition Award and water-well driller Ken Wood of Denton, MD, a Life Member Award for his special service in the furtherance of the groundwater industry and the association. Wood is founder and operator of Lifetime Wells for Ghana, which, during the past eight years, has drilled more than 1,000 wells for people in Ghana and Tanzania.
Tomlinson joined by Figas and Figas
Tomlinson Industries has appointed Matt Figas Director of Business Development and Finance, and Melissa Figas as Marketing and Advertising Manager. Previously, he worked as an investment banking analyst at League Park Advisors, LLC, serving as a key execution team member in both sell- and buy-side merger and acquisition engagements. Matt holds Bachelor’s Degrees in accounting and finance from Miami University. Melissa previously worked in sales and finance roles at McMaster-Carr Supply Company and prior to that, assisted in the development of web content for Midwest Retail Services. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Ohio State University, with specializations in education and general business.
Calgon retirement and appointments announced
Calgon Carbon Corporation announced that Bob O’Brien will officially retire April 1, 2016. He will continue to work with the Board of Directors and management team under a consultant agreement through September 2017. O’Brien began his career with Calgon Carbon in 1973 as an engineer after graduating from Penn State University with a degree in chemical engineering. Throughout his career, he has held various roles including marketing, engineering and business management. Since 2012, O’Brien has held the position of COO. Current CFO Steve Schott has been promoted to Executive VP of the newly formed Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Equipment (AMME) Division and Senior VP Jim Coccagno has been promoted to Executive Vice President of the newly formed Core Carbon and Services (CCS) Division. Replacing Steve Schott as CFO will be Robert Fortwangler, currently VP of Finance.
Gledhill to head Blue-White
By unanimous vote of the Blue-White Industries Board of Directors, Rob Gledhill was elected to the position of company President. He has been with the company for more than 25 years and has had experience in all phases of production and marketing. Gledhill is highly respected by employees, management, customers and vendors and was instrumental in the development and launch of Blue-White’s Pro-Series® and Proseries-M® lines of metering pumps and flowmeters. He also helped develop new production methods in the machining and assembly phases of the manufacturing process, and more efficient packaging and shipping processes.
IBWA Board members named
The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) announced its 2015-2016 officers and board of directors. Joe Bell (of Aqua Filter Fresh), member of the executive committee and board of directors, was elected to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors He also served as Vice Chairman in 2014-2015. IBWA members approved the following slate of officers: Shayron Barnes-Selby (DS Services), Vice Chair and Bryan Shinn (Shinn Spring Water Company), Immediate-Past Chair. The following IBWA members were elected or re-elected to the Board of Directors for a three-year term, expiring in 2018: Andy Eaton (Eurofins Eaton Analytical, Inc.); Dan Kelly (Polymer Solutions International, Inc.) and Bill Young (Absopure Water Company, Inc.).
